This is another podcast from one of the many podcasts that I like to listen to. This one is from the Jason Stapleton Program, definately worth a listen!

661: The DOD Can Now Spy on Anyone it Wants

"

Yeah, it's yet another move toward totalitarianism. An article published on yahoo.com and confirmed by both the Airforce and Department of Defense exposes a change in the government's surveillance of U.S. citizens that now covers "homegrown violent extremists with no specific connection to foreign terrorists.

What's truly scary about this change is the DOD doesn't need a warrant to spy on anyone, and before this change, intelligence agencies like the CIA were only allowed to spy on U.S. citizens when it could demonstrate the individual was working on behalf of a foreign power.

It's one more blow to your privacy and a step toward big brother control.

Will this be used for nefarious purposes? Oh, most certainly but will it be widespread enough to jeopardize your liberty? Probably not but why take the risk?

This is the kind of thing our elected officials are supposed to prevent. Every time I turn around the government is offering to take care of my problems but when it comes time to actually protect me from the most significant threat of all (an overreaching, all-powerful central government) my representatives are asleep at the wheel and incapable of defending my liberty.
