Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 3.5 holster - unboxing

I just received this holster in the mail a few days ago and I thought it would be a good time to do a short video on unboxing it to get some inital reactions of this new holster. Alien Gear has come out with a newer version of their cloak tuck line holsters which seems to mergeparts of the cloak tuck 3.0 technology with some of the great benefits that the Alien Gear shapeshift holster has.

Some initial reactions to this new holster is that the hardware to move the clips to different posistions is no longer needed as well as the screws and spacers for those as they now use the locking style clips from the shapeshift holster, which is a very nice additions. The padding on the cloak tuck 3.5 is also a lot thicker than it was in the 3.0 line for added comfort and the neoprene backer seems to be thicker.

Since the clips for this holster use the same locking technology that the shapeshift holsters use, if you already have extra clips for the shapeshift holsteryou can use them with this holster as well, to which can save you some money.

If you are just looking at buying this holster, I would suggest purchasing the extra clips to save money on shipping. They do now have clips that can aidin the concealment so that it is harder to see that you are carrying, which is a very nice addition.

I will be doing a follow up review of this holster after I have carried it with me every day for at least a month. I will also do a follow up review after a yearto see what my thoughts of it are.

The cloak tuck 3.5 holster can be purchased from Alien Gear at http://aliengearholsters.com/alien-gear-cloak-tuck-3-0-iwb-holster-inside-the-waistband.html

Alien Gear Gun Belt follow up review

Today I am going to review the Alien Gear Gun Belt, to which works nicely with the Alien Gear Gun Holster (see my review at - http://www.techlibertyblog.com/index.cfm/2017/1/30/Holster-review-2--Alien-Gear-Holsters)

At the bottom I have a video of my year and a half review of the gun belts.

 Watch this video on D.Tube - https://d.tube/v/jmrados/1zj5mfia

These belts are big, they are thick and they are sturdy. The hardware on them is very nicely made and it definately has a feeling of actual metal and not some chrome finished fake metal stuff that you usually find on belts.

These are not your typical belts that you can find at the local store, they are much more than that. They have a steel core in the middle, which is sewn between 2 slabs of thick sturdy leather. Even if you do not have a gun to carry, but you want a nice thick sturdy belt, these are the way to go s they will get the job done and then some.

I put this belt up to the test with my holster with a gun in it and 2 other belts and the other belts were twisting really bad compared to this one. There was some twist in the Gun Belt, but nothing compared to the twist of the other ones. The 2 other ones that I had used were not belts out of the bargain bag from the store either.

I bought 2 of the belts with the holster deal back in August of 2016 and I wear them quite often. With most belts that I have owned, they start to stretch out after a few months of wearing them, especially if you carry a gun with you and you dont want your pants sagging down. With this gun belt, I have not noticed any stretching at all, possiblly due to the steel core and the 2 thick slabs of leather that is sewn on both sides of the steel core.

I feel that these belts are definately worth the money.

Just wanted to state, since I did not in the video that I am not getting paid by Alien Gear for this review. They just make a good product and wanted to do a review on it.

I was going to provide a link to the gun belts here, but I was not able to find a link to the gun belts on their website, so I contacted them to find out if they even make them anymore. I had found out that they do not and this was the reply that I had received.

"It is true that we are no longer making the gun belts. We were helping Bigfoot Gun Belts get their brand off the ground and now they have fully taken over the belt line. Bigfoot is our sister company and they make the exact same belts that we used to manufacture with just a different logo.

You can reach Bigfoot Gun Belts at www.gunbelts.com or by calling 208-209-7321."

Alien Gear ShapeShift Holster Review

A while ago I did a review on the holsters that I have had and used over time - https://youtu.be/gXA7_2VayBE
and then I did a review on just the alien gear holsters that I had, to which were the cloak tuck 3.0, to which I used those for a few years - https://youtu.be/avZWZ1AmXjQ
This review is on their newest holster, the ShapeShift Modular Holster.

This holster is more expensive as I bought the start kit for this. While this is more expensive than buying a cloak tuck 3.0 holster, this holster is really 3 holsters in one
The 3 holsters in one is because with the start kit

  • you can do a OWB style holster (either by a belt slide or by a paddle)
  • you can also do a IWB style holster
  • you can also do an appendix carry style holster.

There is also a free mounting backet that you can mount in your car, under your desk or anywhere basically so that you can have the holster shell positioned anywhere you want it to be.

The adjusting of this holster is a lot easier than their previous holster as there is no need for the hex key wrench anymore to adjust anything. To adjust the height of the clips all you have to do is turn them so that they then release and you can then adjust the height.

If you want to adjust the retention, you use one of the knob thingies that keep the holster in place

to adjust the retention, so this holster you can literally adjust it while out in the field and not have any tools with you.

When it comes to comfort, this is by far my favorite one. This holster for the IWB is samller than their cloak tuck 3.0 holster and it just feels stronger and seems to have more padding
in it.

There is even a thumb release on it so that the gun will lock into place, to which when pressed you can pull the gun out of the holster then, which could be nice for if you have it mounted in your car, under your desk or even for a OWB carry.

As always Alien Gear has a 30 day money back guarantee on their holsters and they offer a lifetime warranty on the holster as well.
You can purchase or look more at this holster at http://aliengearholsters.com/shapeshift-modular-holster-system.html
or you can buy it on Amazon at http://amzn.to/2i4MoGS

Alien Gear double magazine holster review

http://aliengearholsters.com/mag-carriers.html

Here is my review of the Alien Gear magazine holster. This is something that I have had for about a month now and here is what I think of this.
Please note, I did not receive anything from Alien Gear or any of it's companies for this review. I did not receive this at a discount, nor did I get these for free.
I paid full price for these magazine holsters and I am just giving my honest review of them.

These magazine holsters so far have been one of the more comfortable ones that I have used with my XD. Previously I had been using the holster that comes with the XD gun,
and I have also been using a cloth like one that I bought off of Amazon (I think). The cloth like one and the XD holster are both OWB (outside the waist band) holsters
and they have their draw backs. The cloth one wore out after a year and the XD holster would get cought everytime I would get out of my car or get up from a couch as I would
carry it on my back side of my pants.

The Alien Gear magazine holster is extremely easy to setup, they include all the hardware that you will need for this and they also include all the instructions to get you going as well.
With some of their older gun holsters there was a hex key that was in a bag, but now the hex key is inside of the magazine holster in a little compartment to keep it safe.
All this time of wearing them and I have never lost the hex key (allan wrench) yet. They dis-assemble quite easily to swap between the OWB and IWB (Outside the waist band and Inside the waste band).

For carrying on the OWB they include a paddle to hook both of them up onto this paddle to be a double magazine holster. If you want to do a IWB, they will go individually inside
your waist band.

The hex key is to adjust the retention of the holster tho which works quite easily and that is the only purpose of the hex key. Unlike their older holsters you do not need the
hex key to adjust the height or swap between the IWB and OWB. There is a little knob like thing that you twist which will allow push the lever that allows you to remove the
belt clip.

There are 2 clips that come with, a belt slide, plus the paddle.

For the OWB carry you can have them in just about any way that you want them to be (verticle, horizontal, angled, etc.. )

If you are in the need for a magazine holster, give the Alien gear a try. They have a 30 day money back guarantee!

Alien Gear Gun Belt Review

Today I am going to review the Alien Gear Gun Belt, to which works nicely with the Alien Gear Gun Holster (see my review at - http://www.techlibertyblog.com/index.cfm/2017/1/30/Holster-review-2--Alien-Gear-Holsters)

There was some twist in the Gun Belt, but nothing compared to the twist of the other ones. The 2 other ones that I had used were not belts out of the bargain bag from the store either.

You can find the belts on their website at http://aliengearholsters.com/alien-gear-gun-belt.html

The belts cost $59.88 for the starting price and if you buy a holster with it, the price of belt goes down to $44.88, which to me is a great deal.

I bought 2 of the belts with the holster deal back in June of 2016 and I wear them quite often.
