I've got an article from him I want to read to you about the massive amount of debt and promises America is going to have to address.

It's more evidence that we are living on borrowed time. We've been promised a future that cannot be and that scares me.

I'm afraid for my children and their future. What kind of life do they stand to have based on the greed of those living beyond their means today?

We'll also take a look at the Venezuela media coverage here in the US. It should come as no surprise that there is a propensity to ignore both the suffering and violence happening there and a desire to avoid blaming the problem on socialism.

609: Is Comey Headed to Jail?

A newly declassified order from the FISA court reveals the Obama administration routinely conducted "widespread" illegal searches of American citizens and the FBI routinely shared "raw FISA information" on American citizens with "private contractors."

Comey was the head of the FBI at the time and had to be aware of the information sharing that was happening.

So what now? Don't hold your breath for a prosecution. Comey is part of the system, a system that loves illegally spying on American citizens. Comey needs to survive so the system can survive.

Now that John Boehner is out of office he is apparently able, to tell the truth. At KPMG’s annual Global Energy Conference he said, "Tax reform is just a bunch of happy talk."

The market certainly wouldn't agree. They have priced in some major tax overhauls. What do you think is going to happen when those tax changes don't come through?

608: The Burrito Index - It's Important and Here's Why

There's an index that measures inflation. It's called the CPI or "Consumer Price Inflation" index. It's supposed to tell us how much inflation is making its way into our economy.

Problem is, it's not reliable. Like most of the indexes used to track the economy, (unemployment, jobless claims, PMI, GDP) the government has manipulated them to try and put the rosiest face possible on our economic situation.

A better measure of how much inflation is impacting our lives is the Buritto index. While not a government sanctioned measurement, it may be the most accurate way of determining the real effects inflation is having on your average American.

Today we'll talk about the effect all this money creation is having on our economy and more importantly how it's impacting you in ways you haven't fully appreciated.

In another example of US intelligence failure, the UK is now refusing to share information about the recent Manchester bombing because of leaks withing the US intelligence services.

It can't be that hard to find the person(s) leaking this information and get them removed. I think this is evidence of a deeper problem inside the intelligence community. Is it a hatred for Trump, the administration in general or just poor management? We'll discuss today.

Brazil is on fire after recent revelations over corruption sent the Real plummeting. My mother just returned from a Business trip to Brazil, and the report she gave me is disheartening. Everyone is looking for dollars.

It's a bit funny given the discussion we had today about dollar inflation, but we count our blessings where we can.

607: Former CIA Director Brennan On Record Over Russian Interference

Former CIA Director John Brennan was on Capital Hill yesterday speaking in front of the House Intelligence Committee.

His comments about the Trump campaign (or people working for the campaign) raises concerns over possible collusion between Russia and the campaign.

But Brennan went far short of suggesting there was collusion or that Trump was in any way involved in the communications.

I've got the highlights of the hearing for you on today's show as well as some witty commentary.

The bottom line is, this is a waste of time. The Intelligence Committee has access to the information Brennan is referring to. The FBI also has that information, and they are the ones charged with investigating any possible wrongdoing.

So WHY is Congress wasting time on a hearing? If the Intelligence Committee is concerned about what they've seen and doesn't think the FBI can act impartially, then they should appoint a special prosecutor to take over.

As of today, the American public has seen ZERO evidence of any wrongdoing by anyone. Flynn is the one exception, but his problems are unrelated to the Russia probe.

So, again, a lot of time and media attention wasted on something that has little to no real impact on Americans. Let the investigations move forward. When there is actual news of corruption, collusion or treason (or absolution of the same) then report on it.

Until then we have bigger problems we should be addressing.

If you wonder why I have written off the Libertarian Party, this is a great example.

The LP is full of arrogant, self-righteous children and Vice Chair Arvin Vohra is a perfect example. No tact, no sense of messaging, no clue.

I hit the LP hard in this episode, so if you're a big fan, you might want to skip this one.

Trump has been in the news all weekend with pundits debating his new mid-east strategy. What none of them are talking about is the 110 Billion dollar arms sale that all this diplomacy is meant to facilitate.

604: St. Louis Fed Hints at New QE - Stocks Rally

We knew this was coming. For all the talk of a recovery, the numbers just aren't playing out the way the Fed suggested.

And if you thought the Fed had a broad range of options to deal with a stagnant economy, low inflation, and falling GDP think again.

In typical fashion Jim Bullard, head of the St. Louis Fed suggested that future QE might be needed.

How many times do we have to repeat the past before we learn from it?

Connecticut is learning. Time and again they've exploited the richest in their state to pay for their bloated budgets, but that's not working anymore.

They now face a 400 million dollar shortfall this year.

It turns out you can't just tax the rich to pay for all the "stuff" you want.

The real monster eating our nation isn't the rich or the poor. It's not the Republicans or Democrats. What's destroying our nation is the government itself. That greedy, self-serving, animal that does nothing but take and consume.

Until we decided to draw a line in the sand and bind down out government nothing will save us.

603: President Pence?

Is it that unthinkable? Yeah, I think it is. As a general rule, any time the media poses a question the answer is "No."

Ousting a sitting president is nearly impossible and getting Trump out is going to take a lot more than the circumstantial evidence they've put together so far.

But none of that is stopping the media from continuing the assault on Trump.

The Washington Post is reporting this morning on a story involving Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy who is apparently on tape saying he thought Trump was being paid by Putin.

Was he joking? Was he serious? It doesn't matter. The optics are terrible, and it distracts from any real work getting done.

For example, Republicans are now saying an overhaul of the tax system; even simple tax cuts will likely not happen until next year.

Typical, predictable and sad.

Does the President have the right the ask the director of the FBI to drop an investigation?

I mean, the president is the head of the executive branch, and the FBI is part of the executive.

We're going to talk about it today. Either way, it's terrible optics for an administration that is already struggling.

600: Ann Coulter, the Rights Version of Rachel Maddow

Ann Coulter is, by my account an uglier version of Rachel Maddow. (both inside and out)

She makes her living by coming up with the most offensive and shocking way to express a political opinion.

Not surprisingly she is also a HUGE Trump supporter. Or at least she was.

It turns out she's not happy we don't have a wall, or a decent budget or mass deportation. She's so upset over Trump's shortcomings she's considering pulling her support for the President.

I've never liked Ann. Even what I was a conservative I didn't like her. She represents the worst qualities in a human being and politics today.

But, because she cranks out controversial books as fast as anyone can read them (and I wonder how many people do) she continues to find her way onto the national stage.

We'd all be better off if people like Ann stuck with the other jobs, they're qualified to do (Walmart greater, Stop sign holder on a road construction project, dog walker) rather than making life a little less tolerable by continuing to inject themselves into the political debate.
