Another Mass shooting and the beat goes on

What happened in Texas was truly terrible. There is no other way to say it. But what is worse to me the disgusting way the political machine on both sides of the aisle has pounced on it to start driving their agendas. Personally I am opposed to the gun grabbers for multiple reasons but one of my biggest issues with their stance is that it shows both a lack of understanding about firearms and human nature. If you know nothing about an item, why would I trust your decisions related to it. It is really so easy in our world to educate your self on a subject before opening your mouth, yet so few people do it. So I am going to elaborate on a tweet I made the other day and discuss the issue as I see it. And I am going to belabor the very basic fact that laws only impact the people who are already following them. And there are so many ways to do horrible things without a gun that if they magically all disappeared tomorrow there would still be a tragedy the same week. The root of the problem is not being addressed. We don't have a gun problem, we have a humanity problem. There are approximately 20,000 current gun laws and restrictions on the books. This is all virtue signaling and banner waving, gun laws don't work. All you will do is expose the law abiding citizens to a greater threat by removing their ability to defend themselves from people who couldn't care less about the law. And if you are going to stand on the graves of children to argue with me then your point is already invalid because with out the emotional quotient of the tragedy, you don't have a leg to stand on.

On Gun Violence in America



According to Gunviolencearchive.org there were 692 mass shootings last year. NPR is reporting 213 mass shootings this year alone. On the surface it appears we have a very serious gun problem (or perhaps a mental health problem) in America these days.

Today I want to try and separate the facts from the fiction by taking an unemotional look at the numbers and then address what can or should be done.

Abortion and the Leaked SCOTUS Opinion



This is a very charged subject and I considered waiting until the final draft of the opinion has been released, but recent events have caused me to bump up this episode.
