Don't take that statement the wrong way. I'm not being critical or self-righteous. I'm not even suggesting there is anything wrong with being a coward. I'm simply stating that most people are.

It's important we understand this fact because it explains why we have such a hard time getting our message across. Understanding human nature helps us better address the fears and reservations those we seek to influence have.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just won an upset victory over a Democratic incumbent who outspent her 10:1. She's also a democratic socialist.

It's further evidence that our education system is broken. Anyone who grew up in this country and thinks socialism is a viable alternative to capitalism needs to have their head examined. It shows a complete lack of historical perspective and even a basic understanding of human nature and economics.

Corporations have amassed more than 6 Trillion dollars in debt. It's a record people. But they're not spending it on new research or long-term growth. What are they spending it on? You'll have to listen to today's show to find out. :-)

It's a question I've been asking for years and today I want to share some ideas with you based on an article I read in the WallStreet Journal.

They looked at a series of studies going back to the 1960's at the effects of childhood hardship and success. The results were interesting.

I hope this segment motivates you to take some risks and stay motivated no matter what obstacles you face.

Kennedy retires!! That's right, another supreme court judge is on his way out opening the door for Trump to get his second supreme court nominee. But don't expect this one to be easy. The Democrats know this pick will lock the court in a conservative bent for the next two decades and they are going to do everything they can to prevent a constitutional conservative from making it to the bench.

It also raises the bar on the midterm elections since any shift in the power structure could mean a tougher fight in Congress.

799: FDA Approves First Marijuana Drug in History

It's a great win for free markets. The FDA has approved the first drug to treat seizures using CBD oil.

But the real news is what comes next. With the approval, the FDA has admitted that marijuana has some medical uses. That means the DEA will have to reclassify marijuana as something other than a schedule 1 drug allowing it to be more widely prescribed for a variety of uses. HAZA!!

If you've been listening to the show for a few years you might remember a story we covered in 2014 about a UN envoy to Detroit who claimed water was a "fundamental human right".

You can imagine my reaction and we spent the better part of half the show discussing how ridiculous an idea that was.

Fast forward to today. Venezuela is now facing major water shortages due to government failures. It's a heartbreaking story that should act as a wakeup call to America. I doubt it will.

Yes to social justice warrior himself has managed to transform his message of "tax the rich" and "greedy millionaires and billionaires" into a nice little business.

Thanks to his run for president and a book deal Senator Bernie Sanders has now earned more than 2 million dollars in the last two years.

Don't get me wrong I don't begrudge him his millions. What I find distasteful is his hypocrisy and disdain for the very system that has made him rich.

795: The Balls on the TSA

Yeah, normally I'm more reserved but arrogance and total disregard for the traveling public by the TSA just gets my Irish up.

According to Bart Johnson, who leads security for the TSA, travelers should prepare for longer wait times and more extensive screenings as summer gets into full swing.

My question: Why? If you know travel is anticipated to incease by 10% why wouldn't you staff up accordingly? Open up overtime or improve the efficiency of your screening processes to ensure the traveler (the customer) isn't inconvenienced? That's what any private company would do. They would have to otherwise the airport would fire them and hire another firm.

Instead, Bart has the balls to suggest "thanking and acknowledging the tough job TSA officers have will go along way in bringing down stress levels."

Are you kidding me! If you're trying to check out of the supermarket and they've only got 2 of 10 checkout lines open do you ever hear the manager come out and say, "You know, acknowledging the tough job our checkers do will go a long way to reducing stress levels."

No!! And you want to know why? Because people would respond with "F$*K YOU!! I've got a family waiting at home and dinner to get on the table. Get another checkout line open or next time I'll take my business down the street."

That's the problem with government monopolies. The incentive structure is completely messed up.
