535: Ayatollah Vows Retaliation for Trump's Comments

"

You knew this was coming. Anyone who thought the Iranians were just going to roll over and capitulate to Trump's ultimatum does not understand the culture or the social pressures of the Middle East.

Now Ayatollah Khomeini has fired back in a statement saying the Iranian nation will respond to Trump's comments on February 10th. Nobody knows what that means, but I'd expect it means another missile test designed to send a big "SCREW YOU" in America's direction.

While Trump has worked had to avoid a conflict with Russia he seems determined to start a new conflict with Iran and ruffle feathers with China and Mexico.

Don't get me wrong; I've got no issue with our President ruffling feathers. There's far too much consideration given to public sentiment and media response. But I do worry when our Presidents words could expand our war footing and put American lives at risk.

***
We're also going to talk a little about gun control and open carry today. You won't find anyone more pro-gun than me, but theses open carry nuts often do more harm than good with their provocative display of weapons.

It's another great show, Don't forget to like and share.

Gluten Free, Keto Friendly, Low Carb, Cream Cheese Frosting

The other day when I was making some pound cake with my daughter, I wanted to frost the cake but wanted a keto friendly and gluten free option. One thing that I have done in the past is used a cream cheese frosting, which this is super easy to make.

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. In a bowl mix all the ingredients with a handheld mixer or a kitchen aid mixer until well combined and creamed.

Gluten Free, Keto Friendly, Low Carb, Pound Cake

The other day my daughter wanted a cake (she is celiac) and I wanted one too, but I wanted one that was low carb to fit on my keto diet and also needed to be gluten free as well.

Here is what I wound up making that actually worked out quite well for the both of us. She was happy as she got to help out in the process with making the cake, and she also got to eat a good amount which she liked as well.

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Grease a loaf pan
  3. In a bowl mix the cream cheese, Splenda, sucralose or stevia and the butter together with a handheld mixer or a kitchen aid mixer until well combined and creamed.
  4. Add the eggs and the vanilla extract and mix well until well combined.
  5. Lastly add the Blanched Almond Flour and the baking powder and mix until there are no more lumps and again, well combined.
  6. Pour into a greased loaf pan
  7. Bake in the oven for about 1 - 2 hours. Check it after 1 hour and using a toothpick or knife check the center to make sure that the toothpick or knife comes out clean.
  8. Cool and if you want to, you can glaze it or add a cream cheese frosting to the top.
  9. Enjoy.
  10. If you want to frost this with some Cream Cheese Frosting, here is a recipe

See the video below for full details on how to do this.

Gluten Free, Keto Friendly, Buttermilk

Need buttermilk but do not want to run to the store?

Need buttermilk, but there is none where you are at?

Did you kno that you can make mock buttermilk?

Buttermilk is the liquid left over after making butter, so it is somewhat of a curdled high fat milk product.

All you need to make it is just a few ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of heavy cream (if you want to use a lower fat milk you can, but then it will not be keto friendly)
  • 1 Tbsp of vinegar or 1 Tbsp of Lemon Juice.

Directions:

  1. Mix the cream and the vinegar or the lemon juice together for a few seconds and then let it sit for about a minute or so. It should thicken up a bit and now you have buttermilk that you can use without having to run to the store

How to make your Thermacell cartridges refillable

Here is a quick and easy way to make your thermacell cartridges refillable. This will save a lot of money as you will not have to spend a bunch of money to get new cartrdiges, when with a little hack you can refill them youself.

You only need a few things

Take the lighter and remove the gas container. Using the dremel tool, carfully grind down some of the plastic but do not go too far. Try to remove the end that allows you to refill the lighter.

Once you have the valve removed from the lighter, drill a small hole in the bottom of your thermacell cartrdige with a 7/32 drill bit. Once you have the hole in there, there will be a small metal bb that you want to remove. I am not sure why, not sure if this will prevent the gas from coming out the top valve or not?

Once you have a hole in the bottom of the cartdrige, mix up some of your epoxy and spread some on the sides of the valve that you remvoed and on the inside of the opening you drilled out.

Place the valve inside and then add a good amount of epoxy around the valve on the bottom of the cartridge to ensure a good seal. Let this sit for 24 hours.

After 24 hours you should be able to fill up the cartridge and now you can spend a LOT less money on butane that will fill 4 or 5 cartridges!

532: American Saber Rattling Signals War on Horizon

"

In the wake of the supreme court nomination and the riots at UC Berkeley, you might have missed the comments by National Security Advisor Michael Flynn who put Iran on notice after its recent ballistic missile test.

The announcement comes on the heels of a statement by Iran that it would abandon the U.S. dollar in all financial and foreign exchange reports, a move that will no doubt put the dollar conspiracy theorists into a frenzy.

****
We'll also discuss the group of left-wing regressive extremists who took to the campus of UC Berkeley to protest the speech of Milo Yiannopoulos. It's symbolic of what progressivism has become, a form of fascism that sees no moral hypocrisy in using violence to silence what they deem as hate speech while screaming profanity and hate filled rhetoric into a megaphone. In typical fashion, the police were on the scene but did nothing to prevent the riots or arrest those involved.

Sanctuary Cities- Constitutionally Speaking

"Sanctuary Cities- Constitutionally Speaking02/02/2017 -

Today we deconstruct a recent executive order regarding federal appointee ethics and interestingly it exposes some fundamental questions about ethics in government. We also discuss the concept of nullification and sanctuary cities in light of the Constitution. Auto Backup files and settings on your Android Phone

So,

A while ago I did a post about this app that I use on my android phone called Drive Sync - http://www.techlibertyblog.com/index.cfm/2017/1/4/Backup-files-and-folders-in-Android-to-Google-Drive.   I have a really good use for this program besides for the ones that I had specified in the last post. Recently I had dropped my cellphone in the water and it died. Luckily I had all my photos backedup, as well as most of my media but I did not have my app settings backed up.

This program if I would have thouth ahead could have saved all my settings on all my apps that have automatic preferences backed up for my apps (some have this, the other ones I could have just saved to a folder or something), but if I would have had this setup, all my preferences for all the applications that I use quite a bit could have been backedup. I could have all the important stuff that if I were to lose my phone, what would I want backedup to my Google Drive account, to which I could have backed up all my settings easily. I also could have backed up the settings for the app that backs up the settings to make everything fairly self sufficient.

I always said that I would never drop my phone into the water as I was careful, but the otterbox holster that I had it on had started to wear away and it was not as secure as it should have been.

Some may say that there is nothing on their phone that they cannot live without, while some of that may be true, if you really feel that way lock your phone away and go without it for a few days and see what you really "need". Find those and back the settings up so that if something bad happens, you have everything backed up!
